8 Year old girl's dress + Jacket

I made this dress for a neighbor's daughter, a 8 yr. old. The brief was to design an ensemble where the dress can be worn by itself and also with the Jacket. The material was Benaras cotton synthetic mix tissue. It needed a full lining.

Pink and Gold from the border were used for belt and facing around the neck.

Green from the border for the belt on the back.

I cut out 2" strip of Black material from the main body of skirt for the ruffle around the neck and front and also at the end of the sleeves / cuffs. Attached a gold button to keep the flaps together.

Cut out the motif from the left over cloth and appliqued on the back of the jacket.

The kid was very happy with her dress and so was I.
